Doc-Fai Wong's Lion Dancing Team Wins Double Championships in China



On June 25, 2006, the Athletic Bureau of Jiangmen City of China sponsored the Lion Dancing King Competition in the East Lake Park Square of Jiangmen. In this out door competition, there were 15 teams of lion dancers who traveled from all over of the Guangdong Province. This competition began at 9 AM and continued until 12 PM for the High Jongs division, after lunch from 2 PM to 5 PM was the Traditional Ground Jongs division. The first place winner of the High Jongs competition's will be awarded a large trophy cup and 6,000 Chinese yuan in cash. The team winner of the Ground Jongs competition will be awarded a smaller trophy cup and 4,000 yuan in cash. Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong is the Overseas President and head coach of the Choy Li Fut Association of Jiangmen. His team participated in the competition for the first time and won first place in both divisions under the hot sun. It was 95 degree's of heat and humidity.
